🤸

Open Gym

Unstructured, free-play gym time. Kids run, jump, climb, and invent their own games with friends — with CKC staff on site for safety and plenty of equipment to explore.

What Open Gym is all about

No stations, no whistle, no schedule — just a safe, welcoming gym where kids get to play their own way.

🎈

Free play, their way

Kids choose how they play — making up games with new friends, exploring the equipment, or simply burning off energy. There's no coach-led programming; this time belongs to them.

🧗

Equipment to explore

The gym is set up with age-appropriate equipment for kids to play with — the same kind of mats, balls, hoops, and obstacle pieces they love from our movement programs.

🦺

Staff on site for safety

CKC staff set up the equipment and keep the space safe and welcoming — but they don't lead any activities. A parent or guardian stays with their child the whole time and is welcome to jump into the fun too.

Open Gym FAQ

Common questions about Open Gym sessions.

How is Open Gym different from the movement programs?
Our movement programs are structured, coach-led classes with planned activities. Open Gym is the opposite: unstructured free play with no coach-led programming. CKC staff are on site to help with equipment and general safety, but kids and adults are on their own — playing however they like with one another and the equipment available in the gym.
Do I need to stay with my child?
Yes. A parent or guardian must attend and stay for the duration of the session, and is responsible for supervising their child. You're welcome to get in there and play together!
What do the staff on site do?
Staff set up the space, help with equipment, and keep an eye on general safety so the gym stays safe and welcoming for everyone. They won't be leading activities — Open Gym is all about kids and families directing their own play.
What should my child bring or wear?
Just like our movement programs: indoor running shoes, comfy clothes to move in, and a water bottle.
What ages is Open Gym for?
Open Gym is for kids age 10 and under. A parent or guardian must attend and stay with their child for the whole session.
How much does it cost, and how do I register?
$5 per person, per session — everyone attending pays, kids and adults alike. Registration is open now — you can register online through our registration portal, or simply drop in on the day. We accept drop-ins until each session reaches its 40-person capacity.
